MANUAL THERAPY

Our priority is to reduce your pain and return you to an active and healthy lifestyle as quickly as possible. When it comes to spine injury or damage to the extremities, manual therapy is the most commonly used method to promote alignment, reduce inflammation and begin tissue repair.

At Adria Medical Center, our therapists use soft-tissue techniques to apply pressure to the body, relax the muscles and reduce pain all the while increasing circulation to promote healing and increased mobility.

Soft tissues mobilization, myofascial release, joint mobilization and manipulation, muscle energy techniques, and passive range of motion are all examples of types of manual interventions that may be utilized depending on your individual needs and/or functional limitations.

ERGON TECHNIQUE

The ergon technique is an innovative treatment method for mobilizing soft tissues of the body with the use of special stainless-steel equipment-tools.

Our physiotherapists use it either as a main or as an assistive treatment in rehabilitation of a wide range of musculoskeletal diseases as well as specific sports injuries which require accelerated recovery.

The ergon technique improves circulation, reduced muscle spasm, increases the range of motion in joints, reduces pain and accelerates the healing by increasing the cellular activity.

TECAR

we are proud to use the TECAR therapy as it is the most advanced method and number-one therapy in the world for musculoskeletal and sports injuries rehabilitation.

It acts on the biological tissues and results in increased blood circulation, rich oxygenated blood and reduced edema, inflammation and pain. By providing energy to the tissues, the TECAR technique stimulates the healing mechanisms and accelerates the metabolism of the injured tissues.

Our patients experience immediate therapeutic results from the very first session and their rehab time is significantly reduced compared to older-generations-equipment.

SHOCKWAVE

If you suffer from intense muscular contractions, tendonitis, heel spur or myofascial pain, shockwave therapy will work wonders for you.

Adria’s therapists use shockwave therapy to send shock waves to specific body tissues, resulting in the increase of blood flow and metabolism in the affected area.

This, in turn, activates the body’s self-healing process; reduces the muscular contractions in the tissues as well as local sensitivity and pain; and transforms chronic inflammation into acute one which can be detected and treated by the body itself.

DRY NEEDLING

we use dry needling as a safe and effective method to successfully treat numerous musculoskeletal issues, such as acute and chronic injuries, neck and back pain, sciatica, muscle spasms and strains, knee and hip pain and many more.

Our licensed physiotherapist will insert a sterile needle into the affected muscles, tendons or ligaments in order to alleviate pain, reduce muscle tension, and improve mobility.

Although it is a common misconception, dry needling is not the same as acupuncture. It is strictly based on the principles of Western medicine and on a modern scientific study of the musculoskeletal system.

KINETIC FLOSSING

Kinetic flossing is an innovative therapeutic technique that involves compression bandages made of elastic rubber bands, which are applied to the human body to treat musculoskeletal pathologies.

Our therapists apply a strong compression wrapping around the affected body part which greatly contributes to biomechanical adaptations.

Our therapists combine kinetic flossing with specific therapeutic techniques such as passive or active movements, mobilization techniques or low intensity exercises. This creates ideal conditions for local mobilization and treatments of the soft tissue adhesions and restrictions.

ELECTRICAL STIMULATION

Electrical stimulation is a very effective method in providing a variety of beneficial healing effects, the most frequent one being reducing, eliminating and controlling both acute and chronic pain. What’s more, it results in increased local circulation, decreased swelling, reduced muscle spasm, improved motor coordination and prevented or reversed muscle atrophy.

Because of its wide range of benefits, electrical stimulation can be used to treat a wide range of conditions as well: acute sports injuries, repetitive stress injuries, ligament sprains and auto accident-related injuries. There are several electrical stimulation modes that use different types of currents intended to stimulate different nerves. Our physical therapists will decide on the right one to meet your unique needs and achieve the best results.

KINESIO TAPING

You have probably seen athletes, gym-goers, and even pregnant women using the colorful muscle tape in strategic positions as a way of easing pressure on their joints and alleviating pain. The acrylic adhesive component in the kinesiology tape is activated by body heat, so that as soon as your physical therapist applies the taping system, it begins to work.

Although kinesio tape is most frequently used by athletes, it also benefits people who spend most of the day working in an office and as a result suffer from back or wrist pain. Many pregnant women also use kinesio taping, especially for their back, knees, and even lower abdominal muscles.

NEUROMUSCULAR RE-EDUCATION

Neuromuscular re-education consists of training and re-training your muscles, your brain, and the nerves used for them to communicate with each other to improve movement, strength, balance and function. In order to produce a movement, your brain sends messages through your nerves to your muscles, communicating how far, how fast and how powerfully to move. If your muscles are not getting precise instructions, you will be unable to perform complex tasks successfully.

There are different techniques that our physiotherapists use to challenge your muscles and your mind in order to improve communication and coordination, such as: seated stability exercises, standing balance exercises, postural re-training, isometric muscle contractions, and PNF.

PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY

Our Center has a specialized staff dedicated to understanding and treating women with pelvic health issues.

Pelvic floor therapy consists of specialized exercises designed to strengthen and stretch the muscles on the pelvic floor that support the uterus, rectum, bowel and bladder.

Pelvic floor exercises can help relieve pelvic pain, myofascial pelvic pain, and even help with symptoms of endometriosis.

ANF Therapy
